Death Certificate
Lazar Peretz died at home on 74th Street on March 17th, 1950. His parents are listed as Louis Peretz and Bertha Cohen. Irving was the informant and Dr. Fredric Fisher was Lazar's doctor who had treated many members of the family.

ARTICLE I:
The name of the organization shall be: Children of Lazar and Fannie Peretz
ARTICLE II:
OBJECTS AND PURPOSES:
The objects and purposes shall be:
1. To perpetuate the memory of Lazar and Fannie Peretz.
1. To maintain and promote a close relationship between the descendants of Lazar and Fannie Peretz.
1. To do charitable work.
1. To provide and maintain the burial grounds for the member of the organization and their families, and others, hereinafter referred to in Article VII.
ARTICLE III:
MEMBERSHIP:
1. Membership shall be limited to the direct descendants of Lazar and Fannie Peretz and the spouses of these descendants.
1. No individual may become an active member of this organization until such time as he or she attains the age of 21 years or is married, whichever event occurs sooner.
1. The dues of this organization shall be paid monthly by its active members, the amount of which shall be set annually at the February meeting by the membership at large.
ARTICLE IV
MEETINGS AND ELECTIONS
1. Meetings shall be held monthly, except during the months of July and August, at such dates and places as designated by the membership.
1. The presence of a majority of the members shall constitute a quorum and shall be necessary to conduct the business of this organization.
1. Special meetings may be called by the President, and must be called by the President upon the request of five members.
1. The Treasurer shall mail a financial report at each meeting and a written annual report at the January meeting of each year.
1. Nomination of candidates for the office of President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary shall take place at the November meeting of each odd-numbered year.
1. Election of officers shall take place at the December meeting of each odd-numbered year. Balloting shall be by closed ballot.
1. Installation of officers shall take place at the January meeting of each even-numbered year.
1. Candidates need not be present either at the time of nomination or election; however, they must signify their intention of accepting the nomination in writing prior to the December meeting.
ARTICLE V
VOTING:
1. Voting shall be limited to active members as defined Article III, section 2.
1. At all meetings, except for the election of officers, all votes shall be open ballot.
1. At any regular or special meeting, if a majority so requests, any question may be voted upon by closed ballot.
ARTICLE VI
OFFICERS:
The officers of the organization shall consist of:
President
Vice President
Treasurer
Secretary
Any active member shall be eligible for election to any office in this organization. The officers to be elected for the ensuing term shall be so elected at the meeting specified in Article IV and they shall serve for a term of two years. No member may be elected to the office of President for two consecutive terms.
President:
The President shall preside at all meetings. He shall appoint all committees, temporary or permanent. He shall have such powers as may be reasonably construed as belonging to the chief executive of any organization.
Vice-President:
The Vice-President shall, in the event of the absence or inability of the President to exercise his office, become acting President organization, with all the rights, privileges, and powers as if he had been the duly-elected President. The Vice-President shall be an ex-officio member of all committees.
Treasurer:
The Treasurer shall collect the dues and other monies due to the organization and shall keep accurate records thereof. He shall make all disbursements on behalf of the organization, as directed by the membership. He shall make the reports as set forth in Article IV, Section 4. He shall maintain bank accounts for the organization. In the event that neither the President nor the Vice-President is present at a meeting, it shall be the duty of the Treasurer to act as the presiding officer.
Secretary:
The Secretary shall keep the minutes and reports of the organization in appropriate books.
The Secretary shall take care or all organization correspondence and shall present to the membership all communications addressed to him as Secretary of the organization.
In the event that neither the President, Vice-President, nor Treasurer is present at a meeting, it shall be the duty of the Secretary to act as the presiding officer.
ARTICLE VII
CEMETERY:
1. The title to all cemetery plots shall be in the names of two members as trustees for the organization. Such trustees shall be selected by the membership.
1. The plot hereinafter referred to as the "original plot" refers to the south half of Lot #34, and the North half of Lot #35 in Block 17 in New Ceder Park Cemetery, Bergen County, New Jersey.
1. Row One of said "original plot" shall contain only the graves of Lazar and Fannie Peretz.
1. Graves One to Four inclusive, and Six and Seven in Rows Two, Three and Four in the "original plot" shall be reserved for the charter members who are:

It is the intent that upon the demise of a charter member, the grave immediately adjoining for his charter-member-spouse.
5. The remaining graves in the "original plot" shall be used for burial purposes as follows:
a. For active members. If the deceased active member shall be married, the grave immediately adjoining shall be reserved for his spouse, if desired by the surviving spouse.
b. For minor children of active members.
c. For widowed or divorced parents of charter members.
d. For unmarried brothers or sisters of charter members, said brothers and sisters being unmarried on May 31, 1946, and remaining unmarried to the date of demise.
e. For any grave used as set forth in Section "c" and "d" preceding, the charter member shall pay $75.00 to the organization.
f. Grave #5 in Rows Two to Eight inclusive in said "original plot" shall not be used.
g. Footstones, conforming to the regulations of the cemetery must be provided; the cost of which shall be borne by the estate of the deceased.
ARTICLE VIII
AMENDMENTS:
These By-Laws may be altered, amended, repealed, or added to by an affirmative vote of two-thirds of the membership, provided that the proposed alteration or amendment shall first have been presented in writing and read at two previous and consecutive meetings. However, subdivision 4 of Article VII shall never be repealed or amended.
The foregoing was duly approved and unanimously adopted on the 6th day of December 1952 at a regular meeting of this organization in witness thereof, we, being all the members of this organization, have hereunto subscribed our names.
